Students Exceed Expectations
Test scores are not the primary measure of achievement at The Oaks Academy. And yet we know that standardized test scores are useful in measuring our students’ performance against those in other schools.

Students at The Oaks Academy consistently perform one to two grade levels above current placement on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. In addition, eighth graders take the Indiana Statewide Test for Educational Progress (ISTEP). Typically 100% of our students pass both language arts and mathematics sections of this test.

Graduates are Recruited by Area High Schools
Area high school admissions officers are impressed with graduates of The Oaks Academy. That’s because they demonstrate maturity with peers and adults, are adept at expressing ideas both verbally and in writing, and exhibit a passion for learning.

Most of our graduates matriculate into their school of first choice. Those enrolling in independent high schools often are awarded significant tuition assistance. Some of the schools they attend are Bishop Chatard, Brebeuf Jesuit, Cardinal Ritter, Carmel High, Cathedral, Covenant Christian, Herron High, International School of Indiana, North Central High, Park Tudor, Pike High, Scecina High and University High School.

College Success
Students from The Oaks Academy’s first few graduating classes are now completing college. For some, they represent the first generation in their families who are college-educated.

Higher learning institutions accepting Oaks graduates include Baylor University, Central State University, Covenant College, Grambling State University, Hanover College, Indiana State University, Indiana University, IUPUI, Johnson and Wales, Purdue University, University of San Francisco, Savannah College of Art and Design, University of Southern Indiana, Taylor University and Xavier University.
