Oaks After 3

Oaks After 3 offers a variety of after school activities that vary by year, season, grade level and campus. Most activities are led by Oaks Academy faculty and staff and determined and directed by their interest. Many have talents and passions they wish to share with students which do not fit into the curriculum of the regular school day.

Pricing and scholarship for clubs is set on a scale between $30 and $60 as a percentage of your income. If you have any questions about which interval rate you are assigned to, please contact your specific Oaks Plus Coordinator, listed at the bottom of the page.

Fall Club Information

The fall session will begin on September 20 and end on November 15. Clubs start immediately after school. Participants will be picked up from dismissal by Oaks Plus staff and will receive a snack as part of their registration. Pickup from clubs is at 4:30 PM.

Clubs at our Brookside Campus

Outdoor Education

Through tending the garden, building soil, exploring native ecosystems and learning stories and histories of this particular place, the Fall session of this year-round club will foster habits of stewardship and love of place.  

The Outdoor Education Club will meet at the Brookside campus every Monday for 2nd and 3rd grade students and every Wednesday for 4th and 5th grade students.

Art Exploration

Come challenge and expand your creativity through a variety of media. We will sculpt, collage, weave, and draw!

The Art Exploration Club will meet at the Brookside campus every Monday for our 4th and 5th grade students.

Clubs at our Fall Creek Campus

Puppet Theatre

Explore different types of puppetry as we enjoy the imaginative play of the theatre.  We learn to make different types of puppets and bring them to life with our stories and imagination.  

Puppet Theatre will meet at the Fall Creek campus every Tuesday for our Pre-K students and every Friday for our Kindergarten students. 

Storytime

Come sit awhile and listen to a read aloud story time.  We will discuss our books and do activities that go along with the stories we’ve read.  

Let’s adventure through literature each week at the Fall Creek campus every Wednesday for our Kindergarten students and every Thursday for our 1st grade students.

First Tee

First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to youth. The program reinforces values like integrity, respect, and perseverance through the game of golf.

This session of First Tee Golf will take place at our Fall Creek campus on Wednesdays for 4th and 5th grade students.

Clubs at our Brookside Campus

Craft Club (Pre-K & Kindergarten)

Students will engage in craft-making experiences that focus on enhancing their fine motor skills, directional awareness, problem solving skills, and basic academic knowledge. Craft club will take place every Monday from January 10th – February 28th when school is in session.

Puzzle Club (1st & 2nd Grades)

Work through all kinds of puzzles! From jigsaw puzzles with hundreds of pieces, to simple origami and thinking/ logical puzzles. Puzzle Club will meet every Thursday, from January 13th – February 24th when school is in session.

Weaving Club (2nd & 3rd Grades)

Come practice weaving and stretch your creativity in weekly art material exploration! Weaving club will meet each Monday, from January 10th – February 28th when school is in session.

Outdoor Education: Conservation Club (4th & 5th Grades)

What can you make out of broken crayons, old clothes, or the humble plastic bag? What happens to our trash when we throw it away? Can food scraps really turn into more food? The winter session of outdoor education club will tackle these questions and more. Students will learn about waste and recycling, make art from reclaimed materials, and tend (and eat!) the indoor vegetable garden. Outdoor Education: Conservation Club will meet every Monday, from January 10th – February 28th when school is in session.

Volleyball Club (4th & 5th Grades)

Learn and practice the basic skills and rules of volleyball. This club welcomes all 4th-5th grade students and all skill levels! Volleyball Club will meet every Wednesday, from January 12th – February 23rd when school is in session.

Please ensure each student has a change of clothes and athletic shoes for the club.

Storytime (Pre-K - 2nd Grades)

Storytime Club is a fun place to hear great stories come to life. Students will have opportunities to ask deep questions and have rich conversations. Thank you for gifting your child extra time to be immersed in stories. We may even have a guest reader!

Storytime Club (Pre-K) will take place every Tuesday, from January 11th – February 22nd when school is in session.
Storytime Club (KG) will take place every Wednesday, from January 12th – February 23rd when school is in session.
Storytime Club (1st-2nd grade) will take place every Thursday, from January 13th – February 24th when school is in session. 

Art Club (1st & 2nd Grades)

In Art Club, we are going to break down drawing into easy to follow steps- then use our own creativity to give color to our art and bring it to life!

Art Club (1st-2nd Grade) will meet every Monday, from January 10th – February 28th when school is in session.

STEM Building Club (3rd - 5th Grades)

In STEM Building, students will be challenged to create a variety of structures using different materials. STEM Building Club will meet every Wednesday, from January 12th – February 24th when school is in session.

Crochet Club (4th & 5th Grades)

Come learn how to crochet! In this club, you will learn all the basics of using yarn and a crochet hook. We will learn how to tie a slip knot, make simple chains, learn simple stitches, and then work towards completing a simple project.

Crochet Club (4th-5th Grade) will meet every Monday from January 10th – February 28th when school is in session.

Futsal Club (4th & 5th Grades)

Futsal is small sided indoor soccer, taking place in the gym at Fall Creek. Futsal Club will meet every Wednesday, from January 12th – February 23rd when school is in session.

Students should have athletic shoes on hand for the club. 

Clubs at our Middle School Campus

Climbing Club (6th - 8th Grades)

Climbing Club will be held before school and will be an opportunity for students to grow in the control of their mind and body. During club time, students will learn techniques and receive coaching that will build their strength, coordination, and problem-solving capacity. Students will watch each other climb routes to learn and grow collaboratively, and will have the opportunity to find the level of route that matches their own personal ability. Above all, club time will be a perfect blend of play and practice on the wall.

Climbing Club will meet at North Mass Boulder (1411 Roosevelt Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46201) from 7:00-7:45 AM. Parents will need to provide transportation to North Mass Boulder and The Oaks will transport students to the Middle School after each club. Participants will be allowed a chance to change into their school uniform after each club and before school begins.

Session 2 will be held on the following dates: Jan. 19th, 21st, 26th, 28th, Feb. 2nd and 4th
Session 3 will be held on the following dates: Feb. 16th, 18th, 23rd, 25th, March 2nd and 4th

Spring Club Information

The spring session will begin on March 8th and end on May 9th. Clubs start immediately after school and run until 4:20 PM. Participants will be picked up from dismissal by Oaks Plus staff and will receive a snack as part of their registration. Pickup from clubs is at 4:30 PM, with any remaining students going to After Care

P.E. Extra Club (1st - 3rd Grades)

Participants will have fun while being engaged in a structured sport activity during our P.E. Extra club. 

P.E. Extra will meet every Tuesday, from March 8th – May 3rd when school is in session.

Outdoor Education: Gardening Club (3rd - 5th Grades)

This spring, Gardening Club is exploring food and place. With help from the Indianapolis Thriving Schools Challenge grant, we’ll be tackling the problem of wasted food, farming with worms, and growing native woodland plants in our shady school garden. Rainy-day projects include cooking and making art from reclaimed materials. 

Gardening Club will take place every Monday, from March 15th – May 9th when school is in session.

Creative Writing Club (4th & 5th Grades)

This club will be an exciting opportunity to grow in creative writing, develop our imaginations, and most of all explore the power and impact of storytelling. We will do a variety of activities together, including writing poetry, reading inspiring stories by well-loved authors, and writing our own stories with illustrations. Our big project will be binding our best stories into actual books with covers we will design!

Creative Writing Club will meet every Thursday, from March 10th – May 5th when school is in session.

Students will engage in fun take home crafts. In Craft Club, we will use hands-on skills while learning to make cards, paint on canvas and make crafts from recycled items.

Outdoor Education: Gardening Club (2nd - 5th Grades)

Spring is the time to start dreaming of plants! Garden Clubs at Fall Creek will plan, plant and tend the school’s vegetable garden. We’ll explore our place through stories and games, and rainy days will find us cooking or making art from reclaimed materials.

Gardening Club (2nd & 3rd Grade) will take place every Tuesday, from March 8th – May 3rd when school is in session.
Gardening Club (4th & 5th Grade) will take place every Thursday, from March 10th – May 5th when school is in session.

Crochet Club (4th & 5th Grades)

This session of Crochet Club will allow participates of different skill levels. We welcome those new to the club to learn simple chains, stitches and knots. While return participants will further themselves by building on their skills.

Crochet Club will meet every Monday, from March 15th – May 9th when school is in session.

P.E. Extra Club (4th & 5th Grades)

Participants will have fun while being engaged in a structured sport activity during our P.E. Extra club. PE extra will be mostly team sport based with games like Mat ball, Futsal, ultimate frisbee, capture the flag, badminton, and some tag games for warm up.

P.E. Extra will meet every Wednesday, from March 9th – May 4th when school is in session.
