  1. Engaging Learning: Parents often share how their children come home excited to share what they discovered at school. In the classroom, students explore works of art together and discuss questions such as: What do you see? What do you think? What do you wonder? These conversations help students grow in curiosity and confidence as they share their ideas. At the same time, students build a strong foundation in reading and writing through daily phonics, reading, and handwriting practice.
  2. Outside the Classroom: Kindergarten students spend time outside at The Oaks! When the weather allows, students enjoy two recesses each day, along with nature walks and nature studies where they explore and observe the world around them. Throughout the year, students also go on field trips to places like The Indianapolis Children’s Museum, an apple orchard, the Indianapolis Zoo, and local parks. These experiences help bring what students are learning in the classroom to life.
  3. Relationships first:  One thing parents often notice right away is how well teachers know their children. At The Oaks Academy, relationships come first, and teachers intentionally build meaningful connections so every child feels known and loved.
