What is Oaks Plus?

Oaks Plus encompasses all before and after school programs and offers students and families a variety of opportunities in athletics, clubs, childcare, and summer camps, depending on their grade level.

Childcare Offerings

Oaks Plus Extended Day Program is our childcare offering for currently enrolled Oaks Academy students. Fees are billed to your account based on hourly rates, and families receive their hourly rate at the beginning of the year.

If your child is dropped off before the official start of the school arrival window (8:10 am), they will automatically be signed in to Before Care.

After Care requires reservations, which can be scheduled in advance, and is available until 6 pm. Lower school students with an After Care reservation will be transported by bus at the start of dismissal, and all Oaks Plus pickup will take place at the Martindale-Brightwood Campus. Students without an After Care reservation who are not picked up during regular dismissal (3:05 - 3:30) will incur a $15 late fee in addition to After Care charges and transported to the Martindale-Brightwood campus for care.

The Oaks also offers Full Day Care on select weekdays when classes are not in session during the school year. Parents may utilize this program for any length of time between 8 am - 5 pm.

After-School Clubs

Every quarter, a wide variety of after-school clubs are offered to extend your child’s learning experience outside the classroom. Clubs include art, chess, board games, sports activities, poetry, and many other exciting options. Students signed up for clubs will be transported by bus at the start of dismissal to the Martindale-Brightwood Campus, where all Oaks Plus activities are held after school.

Athletics

Our partnership with Tab Rec allows your child to enjoy recreational sports while deepening bonds with fellow Oaks students. These opportunities are shared with families throughout the year.

Beginning in 5th grade, Oaks students can participate in Oaks Plus Athletics. Our teams include baseball, volleyball, cross country, basketball, track and field, and soccer. Your child can try out for these no-cut sports and be placed on in-house, JV, or Varsity teams.

Frequently Asked Questions

What activities are available during Childcare?

Students in Before Care receive a breakfast snack and are given time for homework review or free play before they are refocused and sent to class when the drop-off window begins at their campus location.

Students in After Care receive an afternoon snack before enjoying unstructured play in the gymnasium, cafeteria, or outdoor spaces before settling into homework. Students who remain until the end of After Care participate in an organized activity, ranging from nature studies to board games.

Full Day Care is a blend of Before and After Care with additional organized activities. Students must bring their own lunch and enjoy a morning and afternoon snack provided by the school. Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten take naps after lunch and are allowed to bring a comfort item, as they do on normal school days.

Who can sign up for clubs?

Clubs are available for Kindergarten to 8th grade students.

Clubs are designed around appropriate age groups that may combine up to three consecutive grade levels. A club theme may be offered several times as each offer is thoughtfully designed for a specific age group. (For example, a Storytime Club may be offered on separate days for a Kindergarten group and 1st & 2nd grade combined group.)

How do I sign my child up for Oaks Plus activities?

Information on Oaks Athletics, clubs, and summer camps is emailed to parents throughout the year, and registration details are also available on our Family Hub.

No registration is needed to utilize Before Care. If your child is dropped off before the official start of the school day, they will automatically be signed into Before Care. After Care requires reservations, which can be scheduled in advance. Lower school students with an After Care reservation will be transported by bus at the start of dismissal. Parents may utilize Full Day Care for however long it is needed during the day (full day or drop-in) and are charged their hourly rate for whatever time is utilized.

All Oaks Plus pickup will take place at the Martindale-Brightwood Campus.

What is the cost of Oaks Plus activities?

Fees for athletics, clubs, and camps are set based on each activity.

Pricing for all Oaks Plus offerings is determined by using an income-based sliding scale. If you are eligible for a discount, your pricing tier will appear at the checkout stage of the registration process.

Childcare fees are billed to your account based on an hourly rate, and families receive their rate at the beginning of the year.
