Experiences that enhance your child's education
At The Oaks, we offer a rich experience beyond our proven curriculum. Our focus on whole child development means your child’s emotional, social, and spiritual maturity is as important as their academic success. Your child will learn valuable skills through their relationships with fellow students and their many opportunities outside the classroom.
Field Trips
Monthly field trips allow students to connect their learning outside of the classroom and deepen their experience of the world. Because every field trip is tied to their curriculum, a genuine love for learning is nurtured to last a lifetime.
Lauds and Chapel
Lauds is a set time for students to gather for a song, scripture reading, and prayer each morning. Starting every morning in this way sets the Christ-centered atmosphere of The Oaks, welcoming your child to center their day on Christ. Parents often stay for this special time, and it’s a great time to engage with other parents.
On Wednesdays, students participate in chapel, an extended time to sing, read scripture, and pray together. These 30 minutes are a highlight for our school community, and parents often line the walls to worship alongside their children.
Traditions
When asked what makes The Oaks special, our parents often talk about our traditions. While each grade level has specific traditions, the entire school celebrates at Spring Fling, a celebration that includes a parade and classroom presentations showcasing the year’s learning.
Special Projects
Every year, students work on significant projects to bring history or science to life through hands-on learning. These projects showcase your child’s knowledge, research, and creativity while building their confidence as they take pride in their hard work and achievement.
