2022 / 2023 Annual Report

Oaks Family and Friends,

The 2022-2023 school year marked our 25th year of providing a rich classical, Christ-centered education while keeping relationships first.

It has been my honor to celebrate and reflect on the last 25 years of student success along with the Board of Trustees and your school leaders.

Our doors first opened to 53 students in 1998.
We served over 1,000 students across four campuses last year.
750 alumni of The Oaks are impacting their communities and cities today.

But success is not limited to size and numbers. When we surveyed parents last year about their Oaks experience, we kept hearing again and again: my child is known and loved here. The overwhelming majority of parents saw relationships come first and believed their child was being prepared for success beyond The Oaks.

Your gift contributed to our school’s health today and moved our mission forward for tomorrow. As you read through the 2022-2023 Annual Report, I hope you can reflect on the many ways our students’ success is possible because of generous supporters like you.

Thank you for partnering with The Oaks this year,

Shannon Williams
Board Chair, 2022 – 2023

SCHOOL SNAPSHOT

The First Year of the Pre-K Center

On August 18, 2022, we opened the doors of the Pre-Kindergarten Education Center for our student’s first day of school for the first time! The year was filled with many firsts for our Pre-K program, such as the first Fall Fest, first Christmas concert, Spring Fling and more.

The launch of the Pre-K Center has allowed us to expand access to The Oaks Academy and offer a customized, developmentally appropriate academic experience for our youngest learners. Contained in a dedicated area of the building, the center was designed with the needs of the students in mind. Inside, each classroom has a classroom sink and private bathroom. Outside, there is a playground, trike path and plenty of green space to explore and learn in.

“I am so very proud of our first class of students to complete their first year at The Oaks Academy Pre-Kindergarten Center! Glory to God for the wonderful year that we have had.” – Robin Shaw, Head of School of the Pre-Kindergarten Education Center

Celebrating 25 Years of Student Success

The 2022 – 23 school year was The Oaks Academy’s 25th year of educating students in Indianapolis. To celebrate these last 25 years of student success and transformation as a school, we embarked on a journey to commemorate our history with a special project.

In true Oaks tradition of reflection, we spent some time with many of the people who played a role in our early years to shape and form The Oaks into what it is today. From this, we created the documentary, “The Story of The Oaks Academy: For the Display of His Splendor”, a story about the miraculous founding of our school.

Although we look back on these last 25 years, we are eager for the next chapter ahead as we continue furthering our mission of providing quality, Christ-centered education to children from diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
