Applying to The Oaks

The Oaks is honored to serve a diverse community of more than 800 children that come from neighborhoods across Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

We are currently accepting the second  round of applications for ALL GRADES* for the 2018-2019 school year.

*Please note, 6th grade applications and Kindergarten applications at our Fall Creek campus are for wait pool only.

The Oaks Academy has three campuses - Fall Creek, Brookside, and the Middle School

How to Apply

To apply to The Oaks Academy, please complete the steps listed here. These steps don’t have to be completed in a particular order and will usually overlap with each other.

Age Requirements

Children must be four years of age by August 1st of the year he or she would begin Pre-Kindergarten and five years of age by August 1st for Kindergarten.

The Oaks offers a full day and half day school option for both Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students.

Schedule a Tour or Visit

The easiest way to visit The Oaks is by attending a Parent Preview or Open House. These events take place in the Fall and Winter every year. Our Upcoming Events page will list opportunities as they become available.

Submit an Application

You can apply to The Oaks Academy online. We require a $50, non-refundable application fee. Please find our online application here.

Submit Records and Recommendations

Pre-K and Kindergarten students applying to The Oaks are required to submit a birth certificate and immunization record. If your student will be in 1st – 8th grade we require school records and recommendations. Please download records and recommendations forms here.

After You Have Applied

To be considered for our first round placements for the upcoming school year, please submit your Financial Aid forms by March 1, 2018. Our Tuition and Financial Aid page has more information.

You will be contacted by our Admissions Office, and we’ll work with you to schedule a placement exam (Kindergarten – 7th grade) a group observation (Pre-K and Kindergarten) and a shadow visit (4th – 7th grade).

Admission decisions are made in March for students who have a complete application on file. The number of students admitted to The Oaks Academy depends on spaces available for specific grade levels. There are more spaces available in the Early Childhood grade levels.
