Students Prepared for Life:
The Oaks Academy is Shaping Lives for Success
By the end of the 2025-26 school year, we will cross the threshold of 1,000 alumni who experienced a life-changing Oaks experience. It’s more than a classroom. The Oaks helps alumni develop the confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning that shape the trajectory of their lives and communities.
The Oaks is an investment in our students’ future, in who they are becoming.
Our work is to embody this beautiful philosophy within every school day so our students are transformed. For every child on our campuses, this is the difference that matters.
But our emphasis on character development doesn’t mean our academic curriculum isn’t a priority. Our alumni go on to attend top high schools and colleges and pursue successful careers. We are simply graduating mature alumni who can flourish academically, and emotionally and spiritually.

Jazlin was one of the first students at our new campus, The Oaks, Brookside in 2012. She graduated from The Oaks in 2021 and then finished high school at Believe Circle City High School in 2025. She believes the habits she developed at The Oaks shaped her into the person she is today. When her first reaction was to give up in the face of a challenge, Jazlin had loving teachers who encouraged her to persevere. Because her school was filled with children and teachers who looked like her, she believed the adults when they said she was loved and capable. After The Oaks, Jazlin continued to face life’s challenges with perseverance. As a result, Jazlin’s high school experience included National Honor Society, two collegiate certifications, a high school diploma, and college acceptance letters. To Jazlin, the emphasis on her character at The Oaks made a significant impact because she was surrounded by a community that truly knew and loved her. |
It was the difference that mattered.
Being known and loved at The Oaks has made a big impact on my life. I never begged to stay home because I knew I was going to school with people who wanted me to be there. Even after I left, my teachers stayed up-to-date with my life. When I see them, they always get so excited, with a big smile on their faces. It is amazing to know that they love me even after I graduated from school.
Jazlin’s experience is uniquely her own personal story of renewal. Yet, there are hundreds of other alumni stories, all connected by this thread of experiencing a transformational Oaks education.
The mission of The Oaks is a weighty and costly endeavor, but it matters deeply to Jazlin. It matters to all our students and their families.
Our commitment to socioeconomic diversity means two out of three students depend on scholarships. That’s 700 students relying on donor-funded scholarships this year.
For students who depend on scholarships, we rely on your support.
