Alumni of The Oaks
Alumni Return to The Oaks This Summer
Since first opening our doors in 1998, we have prepared hundreds of students to succeed in high school and beyond where they impact their communities. Throughout their time at The Oaks Academy, each alumni has built a strong foundation in faith and academics, fostered lasting bonds with classmates and teachers, and created memories to withstand the test of time.
This summer, The Oaks Academy was full of familiar faces. Fourteen alumni returned to our campuses — not as students, but as leaders, mentors, and teammates. From summer camps to athletics to internships, these alumni gained meaningful experience while pouring into the next generation of Oaks students.
Serving at Oaks Summer Camps
For alumni like Hudson Bell (’19), Libby Hickman (’20), and Crew VanderWoude (’20), serving as camp assistants and substitutes provided hands-on opportunities as they prepare for careers in education. Other alumni joined as enrichment camp assistants, discovering the joy of helping children grow, create, and explore during the summer months.

Supporting Oaks Athletics Camps
On the courts and fields, alumni stepped up as assistant coaches and staff members. They worked alongside fellow alumni Reese Broadus (’15) and Rashad Williams (’17), now full-time Oaks Plus administrators, modeling teamwork and perseverance for young athletes.
Learning Through Oaks Internships
The summer also brought alumni into our offices. Norah Aalsma (’18) joined the marketing and communications team as our summer intern. She supported our staff in relaunching the Spirit Shop and preparing for the new school year.

Reflecting on her time back at The Oaks, Norah shared:
“I’ve truly missed the environment, the people, and simply being in the building. I believe in what The Oaks stands for and would vouch for the school time and time again. I'm grateful for the opportunity to gain experience in such a meaningful place this summer.”
Staying Connected for a Lifetime
Whether in classrooms, camps, or offices, alumni continue to give back to our community with their time, talents, and love for The Oaks. We are grateful to stay connected to them long after graduation — walking with them as they grow and welcoming them back to invest in those who follow.
